A Strategic Addition for the Cornhuskers
Nebraska Baseball announced the addition of right‑handed pitcher Cole Moore, a recent transfer from Iowa, as the program looks to bolster its starting rotation heading into the next season.
Moore arrives after a freshman campaign in which he appeared in 20 games, starting seven, and posted a 3‑0 record with a 4.68 ERA. Across 25 innings he recorded 23 strikeouts against 17 walks, serving both as a midweek starter and a weekend relief option for the Hawkeyes.
Coaches have highlighted the value of Moore’s Big Ten pedigree, noting that his experience could help fill the void left by several current starters — such as Carson Jasa, Ty Horn and Cooper Katskee — who are slated to enter the draft this summer.
With three years of eligibility remaining, Moore is expected to compete for a starting spot from day one, giving Nebraska a proven arm to lean on as the team seeks to maintain its competitive edge in the conference.
Looking Ahead
The commitment underscores the growing appeal of Nebraska’s program among top transfer prospects, and fans will be watching closely to see how the right‑hander integrates into the rotation.
