A season of milestones
Collin Parker, a former Austin Peay State University basketball standout, capped his collegiate career with a string of accolades that placed him among the program’s most decorated players.
He was named the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference Newcomer of the Year and earned First Team All‑ASUN honors, becoming the first Governor ever to receive both awards in the same season.
Parker’s statistical impact was equally striking: he led the team in points (17.5 per game), field goals, defensive rebounds, three‑point shooting and free‑throw accuracy, while also ranking second in assists and rebounds.
Professional opportunities
Following his award‑laden season, Parker traveled for workouts with two NBA franchises, the Detroit Pistons and the Brooklyn Nets, signaling strong interest from the league’s decision‑makers.
In addition to his on‑court pursuits, he recently completed an MBA at Austin Peay, further expanding his skill set as he prepares for the next chapter.
A legacy of professional pathways
The Governor program has a long history of producing professional talent, with 46 alumni having turned pro and seven reaching the NBA or ABA. Parker’s journey continues that tradition, linking his personal achievements to a broader institutional legacy.
His performances also placed him among the conference’s elite, as he was the only player in the ASUN to rank within the top 12 in points, rebounds and assists per game, and the sole athlete to finish top ten in field‑goal percentage, three‑point percentage and free‑throw percentage.
