Gabe Sularski Commits to Cal Men’s Basketball for 2026‑27 Season

The 6‑foot‑6 guard brings size, skill, and international experience to Berkeley

A Versatile Addition to Cal's Roster

The University of California, Berkeley announced today that Gabe Sularski has signed a letter of intent to join the Bears' men's basketball program for the 2026‑27 season. The 6‑foot‑6 guard, who has dual citizenship in the United States and Poland, chose Cal over a long list of suitors that included Michigan State, Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and Wisconsin.

Sularski spent his senior year at Layton Christian Academy in Utah, where he averaged 12.7 points, 3.7 assists and showcased a blend of size and skill that caught the eye of college scouts. Prior to that, he starred at Lemont High School in Illinois, posting 17.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game as a junior.

Head coach Madsen praised the newcomer, describing him as a versatile guard with elite size, skill and defensive abilities. "Gabe brings a rare combination of length and agility that will complement our existing roster," Madsen said in the announcement.

He will be one of eight newcomers for Cal this season, joining five transfers and three other incoming freshmen. The influx of talent is part of an aggressive recruiting push by the program as it looks to rebuild after a challenging previous campaign.

Sularski's international résumé includes participation in the 2023 FIBA Under‑16 Eurobasket competition, where he averaged 16 points per game. His experience on the world stage adds a global dimension to the Bears' squad.

Fans and analysts alike are eager to see how Sularski will adapt to the Pac‑12 conference and contribute to Cal's ambitions of contending for a conference title. His commitment marks a significant step in the program's efforts to attract top talent from across the country and abroad.
