A new era on the horizon
The Wildcat Coal Lodge, a historic residence perched on the University of Kentucky campus, has recently become a hub of activity as four new Wildcats have taken up residence ahead of the 2026‑27 campaign.
Trent Noah, entering his third year in Lexington, brings a familiarity with the program’s culture and expectations, having already navigated the transition from high school standout to collegiate contributor.
Joining him is Justin McBride, a transfer who has already proven his scoring and rebounding prowess at Oklahoma State, where he averaged 15.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game last season. McBride describes himself as an energy guy, eager to inject that spark into BBN Nation.
The excitement extends to the Hawthorne brothers. Braydon Hawthorne, a redshirt sophomore who sat out the previous year, will share a room with his younger sibling Zyon this summer. The pair even recreated a nostalgic photograph that once captured them alongside legendary coach Joe B. Hall outside the very lodge they now call home.
With the majority of the roster now assembled in Lexington, the team’s chemistry is taking shape, though a few key pieces — Kam Williams, Milan Momcilovic and Osmane N’Diaye — are still expected to arrive before the season begins.
