San Diego Surf 2011 Crowned Southwest Champions, Eyes National Finals

Coach Tony Alcaraz hails team's dedication as they gear up for West Coast playoffs

Championship Celebration

The Boys 2011 San Diego Surf soccer team put the finishing touch on a remarkable season by winning their final Southwest Regional League match on May 30, a victory that also secured the ECNL Regional League Southwest Championship.

Coach Tony Alcaraz, who has guided the side throughout the campaign, praised the players' relentless work ethic and unity, noting that the championship was the culmination of months of dedication on and off the field.

The celebration continued with a pool party and a taco bar, giving the young athletes a chance to relax and reflect on their achievement before turning their attention to the next challenge.

Road to the West Coast

Starting June 10, the squad will travel to Norco, California, to compete in the ECNL Regional West Coast Playoffs, where they will face top clubs from California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada and Utah.

A top‑three finish in Norco would earn the Surf a berth in the National Finals in Virginia, a goal that has become the focal point of the team's preparation.
