The Rebels secured their spot in the national tournament by sweeping Auburn in a decisive super‑regional series, winning 6‑4 on June 5 before following with a 5‑3 victory on June 6. The back‑to‑back wins not only clinched the series but also cemented Ole Miss’s return to the College World Series after a four‑year absence.
This marks the seventh time in program history that the Rebels have earned a berth in the eight‑team CWS field, a milestone that underscores the consistency of the program under head coach Mike Bianco. Their most recent appearance came in 2022, when the team captured the national championship, a feat that still resonates among the fan base.
Opponents for the first round will emerge from the Southern California‑North Carolina super‑regional, a contest that went to a Game 3 on June 7. Southern California, the No. 3 seed from the College Station Regional, defeated Texas A&M twice to claim that bracket, while North Carolina, the No. 5 seed from the Chapel Hill Regional, completed an unbeaten run through its own regional.
The winner of that decisive game will meet Ole Miss in Omaha, where the tournament officially begins on June 12. Alongside the Rebels, the bracket also features West Virginia and Troy, rounding out a field that promises high‑stakes matchups and a showcase of some of the nation’s top collegiate talent.
