Since forming last August after a merger between the Burlington Soccer Club, NC Fusion, and the Triangle United Soccer Association, the squad has climbed quickly through higher competition tiers. Coach Jose Alvarenga, who has guided some players for nearly six years, notes that the team’s growth has been matched by a steep learning curve against seasoned opponents.
