Sunday's Global Showdown
As the 2026 World Cup draws nearer, national teams are using the week of June 7 to test tactics and chemistry in a series of high‑profile friendlies.
In the United States, the schedule features Morocco taking on Norway in Harrison, New Jersey, while Colombia meets Jordan in San Diego and Ecuador faces Guatemala in Columbus, Ohio. Additional contests include Kenya versus Lesotho, Liechtenstein against Cyprus, Denmark versus Ukraine, Kosovo versus Andorra, Croatia versus Slovenia, and Greece versus Italy, spread across Europe and Africa.
The tournament itself will open on June 11 in Mexico City, where the host nation will square off against South Africa, and will culminate on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The U.S. men’s side will begin its campaign on June 12 against Paraguay in Los Angeles, and Canada will meet Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto on June 13.
These exhibition matches serve as a laboratory for coaches to experiment with formations and assess squad depth, while fans get an early glimpse of the talent that will shape the world’s biggest soccer festival.
