Rodriguez's collegiate trajectory started at UCF, where she burst onto the scene as a freshman, earning a spot on the All‑Big 12 Freshman Team and averaging 11.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
A back injury and subsequent suspension curtailed her sophomore year at Iowa, limiting her to just six appearances and leaving her determined to restore full health and form before arriving in Syracuse.
