A Milestone in the Making
Adam Diedrich, Augustana University’s all‑time leader in saves, has officially signed a professional contract with the Sioux Falls Canaries, bringing his collegiate excellence to the independent baseball franchise.
The agreement marks the 39th player under longtime coach Tim Huber to transition to the professional ranks, underscoring the program’s reputation for developing top talent.
Diedrich’s collegiate résumé is punctuated by record‑breaking performances, including a 2023 season in which he topped the nation with 14 saves, posted a 2.25 earned run average over 32 innings and struck out 35 batters.
He continued to impress in the 2026 campaign, recording eight saves, a .237 opponent batting average and 25 strikeouts across 25 ⅔ innings, while also setting a program record with his 25th career save against Sioux Falls.
A four‑time NCAA Tournament participant, Diedrich helped the Vikings capture three NSIC championships and reach the 2023 College World Series, experiences that should translate into a competitive edge with the Canaries.
Fans can look forward to seeing the right‑hander’s sharp command and high strikeout potential as he joins a Sioux Falls roster eager to contend for a championship.
A Legacy at Augustana
Throughout his five‑year stint with Augustana, Diedrich amassed 90 strikeouts in 86 ⅓ innings, a testament to his consistency and resilience on the mound.
