A Rising Star Joins the Razorbacks
Parker Keenan, a three‑star tight end from Kirkwood, announced his commitment to the University of Arkansas on June 7, adding a versatile playmaker to the Razorbacks' roster. The announcement came as Arkansas looks to bounce back from a 2‑10 record in 2025, a season that left the program searching for a spark.
During his junior year he caught 24 passes for 404 yards and four touchdowns, earning second‑team Leaf‑Chronicle All‑Area honors. He also lined up at defensive end, tallying 44 tackles, eight tackles for loss and three sacks, underscoring his two‑way ability.
High School Highlights and Rankings
The Cobras, coached by his high school staff, finished 9‑3 and advanced to the second round of the TSSAA Class 5A playoffs, a testament to his impact on the field.
Ranked No. 47 among Tennessee prospects and No. 72 nationally among tight ends in the Class of 2027 by the 247Sports Composite, Keenan attracted 20 scholarship offers, including from Florida State, Cincinnati, Colorado, Maryland, Memphis and Middle Tennessee.
Teammate Commitment and Coaching Direction
His teammate Kamari Blair, a 4‑star recruit, chose Tennessee, highlighting a friendly rivalry that could shape the next chapter for both players.
First‑year head coach Ryan Silverfield, who inherited a 2‑10 record, is banking on Keenan’s arrival to revitalize the offense, while the coaching staff hopes the new commitments will translate into a stronger defensive front.
The commitments underscore a recruiting push that could reshape Arkansas’s fortunes, as the Razorbacks aim to turn a disappointing season into a platform for future growth.
