A Fresh Coaching Direction
Texas Christian University revealed that Danny-David Linahan will take over as the program’s hitting coach, succeeding Bill Mosiello who is moving on after several seasons at the helm.
Linahan arrives after a two‑year stint at Texas State University where he helped shape the team’s offensive strategy and worked closely with position players.
His professional résumé includes a recent role as an assistant hitting coach with the Minnesota Twins, a club that captured the 2023 AL Central Division title under his guidance.
He also served as a minor‑league hitting coach for the Cleveland Guardians, where he refined the swing mechanics of several prospects.
A Journey Through Baseball
Before his time in Minnesota, Linahan was part of the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, gaining early exposure to player development at the highest level of the sport.
From 2019 to 2020 he directed player development efforts at Abilene Christian University, overseeing a program that emphasized both performance and academic growth.
His playing background includes collegiate baseball at Hardin‑Simmons University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University, as well as a foundational stint at Frank Phillips Junior College.
The Horned Frogs hope Linahan’s blend of analytical insight and hands‑on coaching will translate into a more potent batting lineup and stronger overall performance in the upcoming season.
