Triple Triumph at the Ohio State Track Meet
Jamier Brown, a standout athlete from Big Walnut High School, captured three Division 2 state titles at the recent Ohio track and field championships, underscoring his status as one of the state’s most electrifying sprint talents.
He clocked 10.42 seconds to win the 100‑meter dash, edging Toledo Scott’s WT Young III by nine‑hundredths of a second, and followed that with a 20.91‑second performance in the 200‑meter dash, the fastest time recorded in Ohio this year.
Brown also anchored the Big Walnut 4×100‑meter relay squad, which posted a victorious time of 41.53 seconds, adding another gold medal to his collection.
The achievements come as Brown prepares to join Ohio State University’s Class of 2027, with plans to enroll early in the spring semester of 2027, a timeline that could see him transition from the track to the football field as a wide receiver.
While his track exploits may mark his final state meet, Brown is slated to lead his high school football team this fall, balancing the final season of gridiron play with the promise of a collegiate career that blends both athletics and academics.
