Clement’s Week of Excellence Recognized by Trib HSSN
Mavrik Clement, a senior catcher from Butler High School, was selected as the Trib HSSN baseball player of the week for the period ending June 7, 2026, a recognition that highlights his dual impact on the field.
At the plate he is batting .329 this season, having collected 23 hits that include three home runs and ten doubles, while his on‑base percentage sits at .505 and his slugging percentage at .657.
His contributions have helped the Butler Bulldogs capture their first district championship since 1992, a milestone that propelled the team into the PIAA playoffs where they remain competitive.
Beyond the numbers, Clement’s leadership extends to the mound; he has worked closely with teammates such as West Virginia commit Kyle Casteel and Penn State commit Nolan Stefaniak to shape a pitching staff that has been among the most reliable in the section.
The Bulldogs closed the regular season on a ten‑game winning streak and secured the Section 1‑6A crown by two games, underscoring the consistency of their performance.
Looking ahead, Clement will continue his baseball career at the University of Pittsburgh, where he will join a program that has benefited from the mentorship of his father, former major‑league pitcher Matt Clement, who now serves as his high school coach.
