Iowa Athletics announced this week that a brand‑new court has been installed at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, marking the end of a long‑standing chapter for the facility’s playing surface.
The replacement comes after the NCAA Tournament’s South Region court was acquired and repurposed, giving the arena a fresh maple wood foundation while retaining a visual style reminiscent of the previous floor.
Subtle design upgrades are woven into the new layout, ensuring the court feels both familiar and contemporary for players and fans alike.
A tribute in place
At the heart of the design, the “22” decal that commemorates Caitlin Clark’s record‑setting three‑pointer will be transferred to the new surface, landing in the exact spot where it once adorned the old parquet.
The first official game on the renovated floor is slated for early November, when the Hawkeyes will step onto the fresh surface before a home crowd.
Looking forward
Coaches and players alike have expressed enthusiasm about the upgraded venue, noting that the new court not only refreshes the arena’s aesthetics but also signals a renewed focus on performance as the season approaches.
