Middlebury Baseball Celebrates Conference Honors

The Middlebury Panthers baseball squad closed the season with a 21‑15 record and secured a spot in the NESCAC championship weekend, marking the ninth time the program has reached that stage.

The conference recognized the team’s standouts with four all‑conference selections, highlighting a blend of offensive firepower and pitching reliability.

Senior Henry Ayers was the centerpiece of the accolades, earning Co‑Rookie of the Year and a spot on the first team while shattering program records with 69 hits in a single season and leading the league in batting average (.476), slugging percentage (.676) and OPS (1.182).

Pitcher Christian Zebrowski also made the second team, posting a 2.36 ERA and a perfect 6‑0 record; he fanned 42 batters while walking only 10 in 34.1 innings, underscoring his dominance on the mound.

Junior Sam Gersch contributed to the offensive surge, batting .418 and ranking among the top ten in on‑base percentage and stolen bases, earning his own first‑team nod.

Together, the four honorees helped the Panthers finish the year with a strong conference presence and set the stage for future success.
