Hamlin's Comeback Victory at Michigan
Denny Hamlin captured his second straight NASCAR Cup Series win at Michigan International Speedway, turning a penalty that dropped him to the rear of the field into a masterful comeback.
After a restart with 38 laps remaining, Hamlin executed a daring three‑wide pass to seize the lead and never looked back, securing his 63rd career victory and tying Kyle Busch for ninth on the all‑time win list.
The race was interrupted by a hard crash involving Christopher Bell and Chase Elliott, which ripped the SAFER barrier and forced a 20‑minute red‑flag period for repairs. Both drivers emerged unharmed, walking to an ambulance for a brief check at the infield care center, with Elliott apologizing to Bell for his role in the incident.
Erik Jones finished second, followed by Bubba Wallace, Kyle Larson and Carson Hocevar, rounding out a competitive top‑five.
