Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Release Latest Class Rankings
The Baseball Coaches Association of Iowa has unveiled its newest statewide rankings, offering a snapshot of the teams that are shaping the early season narrative across the state's four classifications. The lists, which rank the top ten squads in each class, combine win‑loss records with previous week positions to illustrate momentum and consistency.
In Class 4A, Sioux City East sits at the summit with a 16‑1 record, having held the top spot since the last update. Close behind, Indianola and Cedar Rapids Prairie occupy the second and third slots respectively, both posting strong 12‑1 and 12‑2 marks that suggest they are poised for deep playoff runs.
Class 3A sees Dubuque Wahlert leading the pack at 13‑2, while MOC‑Floyd Valley and Marion follow with 8‑2 and an unbeaten 10‑0 record, the latter climbing from outside the top three a week ago.
The 2A division is dominated by Pleasantville, which tops the chart at 12‑1, and Roland Story, which remains flawless at 15‑0 and holds the second position. Iowa City Regina rounds out the top three in the class with a 10‑1 record.
Class 1A features Martensdale‑St. Mary’s at the forefront with a 13‑2 record, while Coon Rapids‑Bayard and Saint Ansgar round out the top three with 10‑0 and 10‑0 marks respectively, the latter maintaining its third‑place standing from the previous week.
