The Notre Dame Jugglers have continued their dominant run in the New York baseball regionals, securing a 7-5 victory over Taconic Hills that extended their winning streak to seven games. The team never trailed, pulling ahead in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings with timely hits and solid pitching.
Owen Bougourd led the offense with two hits, while Antonio Padula drove in two runs. Michael Fitzgerald and James Synakowski each scored twice, and Synakowski sealed the win by recording the final four outs in relief of Josh Caruso.
Semifinals on the Horizon
Next up, the Jugglers will face Section VI Medina in the semifinals at Binghamton University on Friday. The matchup promises a clash of top regional talent, with both teams looking to extend their seasons.
Meanwhile, Averill Park advanced to the Class A semifinals with a 4-0 shutout of New Hartford. Pitcher Anthony Decker delivered a six-hit masterpiece, allowing the Warriors to score single runs in the second and third innings and add a pair in the fifth.
New Hartford’s tournament run included a 15-2 triumph over Section X Massena, where Peyton Way and Luke LaFountain contributed significantly to the offense.
