Among the most talked‑about deals, the Brantford Bulldogs announced they have secured forward Camden McCuaig and a sixth‑round pick in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection from the Kingston Frontenacs.
What the Bulldogs Gained
McCuaig, a 6‑foot‑4 centre, brings a blend of size and offensive upside after a breakout year with the Cornwall Colts, where he posted 42 points in 40 games. He also contributed six points in 17 OHL appearances for the Frontenacs.
General manager Spencer Hyman praised the acquisition, highlighting McCuaig’s physical presence, ability to protect the puck and impact in all three zones. “He’s exactly the type of player we need to build a competitive roster,” Hyman said.
The Return
In exchange, Brantford sent forward Ryan Chamberlain, a third‑round pick in 2027 and a sixth‑round pick in 2027 to the Frontenacs. Chamberlain, a 6‑foot‑2 forward, logged 19 points in 27 games with the Brantford Titans and added 17 appearances for the Bulldogs earlier in the season.
Kingston’s general manager Kory Cooper welcomed Chamberlain, noting his strong skating and versatility. “Ryan brings a work ethic and skill set that fits our plans moving forward,” Cooper remarked.
The trade also ties into the upcoming 2026 OHL Priority Selection, scheduled for June 12‑13 in Kingston, where the newly acquired draft picks will be allocated to the participating clubs.
