A Milestone Return
Stewart Friesen, a veteran of the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, is set to make his long‑awaited return to New Hampshire Motor Speedway on August 22, contesting the Team EJP 175.
The appearance will mark his first Truck start at the 1.058‑mile track since September 2017, a gap created after he was forced to sit out the latter half of the previous season following a crash that left him with significant injuries.
A native of Niagara‑on‑the‑Lake in Ontario, Friesen has long praised the speedway’s layout, noting that its concrete surface and banking echo the feel of the dirt‑modified cars he honed his skills on. The track also enjoys a passionate Canadian fan base that regularly cheers for him.
To prepare, the driver plans to lean on simulator work and notes from earlier runs, and he has even joked about tackling a dirt‑modified race beforehand as a warm‑up. His team, Halmar Friesen Racing, will coordinate the effort alongside partners such as Toyota Racing Development.
The event will be part of a Doubleheader Saturday that also features the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour’s Mohegan Sun 100, giving fans a chance to experience two distinct forms of racing in one day. Friesen took the opportunity to urge spectators to attend, highlighting the unique excitement of both the modified and truck events.
