Kansas Baseball Sets Record with 45 Wins, Falls in Super Regional

A historic 2026 season ends against Oklahoma, highlighting sustainability goals for the program

A Milestone Season for Kansas Baseball

The 2026 campaign concluded with a 13‑2 defeat to Oklahoma in the Lawrence Super Regional, marking the end of a remarkable run that saw the Jayhawks finish with a 45‑18 record.

That loss capped a season in which Kansas matched the 1993 team’s 45 victories, while also establishing new program benchmarks for conference wins, road and neutral‑site victories, home runs and pitching strikeouts.

The team also made history by hosting its inaugural Lawrence Regional and Super Regional, experiences that culminated in Tyson LeBlanc’s 25th homer of the year, extending his single‑season record.

Head Coach Dan Fitzgerald praised the squad’s achievements, emphasizing that the program’s future hinges on sustainable growth and continued development.

Despite the Super Regional setback, the Jayhawks earned a second straight NCAA Tournament berth, the first time in school history they have achieved back‑to‑back appearances.
