The change comes as the two schools swap home‑and‑home locations for the concluding matchup, altering the traditional venue pattern that fans have come to expect.
Under the new arrangement, the Friday night contest will be played on the Denver campus at Magness Arena, while the Saturday showdown will shift to Colorado College’s home rink in Colorado Springs. This venue swap ensures that each school hosts one of the two games, preserving the home‑and‑home dynamic while adjusting the logistics for the upcoming season.
Venue Swaps for the Final Series
The first series of the 2026‑27 season will still be played across two weekends, with Denver hosting on Jan. 16 and Colorado College hosting on Jan. 30. The shift in dates reflects the broader schedule realignment that the athletic departments have been fine‑tuning over the past several months.
Beyond the Colorado College matchup, Magness Arena will host a slate of non‑conference opponents throughout the campaign. Teams slated to appear include Michigan, Boston College, North Dakota, Arizona State, Omaha, Lindenwood, St. Cloud State and the newly joined St. Thomas of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.

Denver hockey full‑season tickets, as well as Friday and Saturday half‑season packages, are now available for purchase through the university’s ticket office. These offerings provide fans with flexible options to follow the team throughout the remainder of the season.
In addition, a five‑game mini plan will go on sale to the general public on Thursday. The mini plan allows supporters to purchase a bundle of five games at a discounted rate, providing an affordable way to experience multiple matchups across the schedule.
