A new era of talent
Southeastern Louisiana University has officially signed four student‑athletes who will join the men’s basketball team for the 2026‑27 season, adding depth, experience and a fresh infusion of talent.
Haki Muhammad II, a 6‑2 guard from Landover, Md., arrives with three years of eligibility remaining and a reputation as a prolific scorer. At Murray State College he averaged 19.2 points per game, earning Freshman of the Year honors and a spot on the All‑Region Team.
Versatility in the frontcourt
Ashley Sims II, a 6‑8 forward from Glen Burnie, Md., brings a blend of size and skill. During his tenure at Bryant University he posted 7.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, while also competing in the Overtime Elite League, a platform known for developing NBA‑ready prospects.
Athletic guard with a highlight reel
Gio Sanford, a 6‑4 guard from Glen Dale, Md., appeared in 18 games for Bryant University last season, showcasing his ability to stretch the floor and contribute defensively.
Senior spark and national exposure
Quincy Allen, a 6‑8 guard from Silver Spring, Md., will suit up for his senior year. He averaged 9.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game at Bryant, and his windmill dunk over Virginia Tech earned a spot on SportsCenter’s Top 10, bringing national visibility to the program.
Coach’s expectations
Coach David Kiefer expressed confidence that the newcomers will make an immediate impact, citing their proven collegiate performances and the added depth they bring to the roster.
The blend of three Division I transfers and a junior‑college product reflects a strategic effort to compete at a higher level in the upcoming season, and the coaching staff believes the new pieces fit perfectly within their vision.
