Pittsburg State’s women’s soccer program is set to welcome eight new faces for the upcoming fall season, a mix of four transfers and four freshmen who promise to reshape the squad’s dynamics and competitiveness.
New Roster Overview
Head coach Wes Branstetter expressed enthusiasm about the incoming talent, noting that the recruitment drive was significantly bolstered by the efforts of AK, Alesha Kostrzewa, and Lucca Munoz, who helped identify and secure the new roster spots.
Among the transfers, Sammie Edwards brings junior-level experience from Nebraska‑Omaha, Sthefany Oliveira da Silva arrives as a recent KJCCC co‑defensive player of the year, Sarah Payton Webb adds Division I pedigree from North Texas despite a 2024 injury setback, and Kaiao Zoller contributed a goal in her lone season at Westminster.

Coaching Vision and Recruitment
Branstetter emphasized that the new additions are expected to reinforce both the tactical depth and the cultural fabric of the team, highlighting the program’s focus on developing well‑rounded athletes.
Looking Ahead
With a blend of seasoned transfers and promising newcomers, the Gorillas aim to translate early momentum into a strong showing on the national stage, a prospect that excites the coaching staff and the university community alike.
