A new era for the All-Star Race
NASCAR is set to stage its 2026 All-Star Race in Dover, Delaware, marking the first time the historic event will be held on the East Coast venue. The track will receive a resin coating to boost grip, a move aimed at delivering more competitive racing.
The race will be divided into three distinct stages: two 75-lap segments that will see the running order inverted for the top 26 drivers, followed by a 200-lap finale that will bring together the remaining twenty competitors.
After the second stage, ten drivers will be eliminated, tightening the field for the climax, while a competition caution is scheduled just past the 75-lap mark of the final stage to add strategic depth.
Several drivers have already secured a spot in the finale through past championships and race victories, but the remaining places will be decided by a fan-driven vote, adding an interactive element to the weekend.
The expanded field includes names such as Ross Chastain, Austin Cindric, Austin Dillon, Kyle Larson and many others, promising a diverse mix of experience and youthful talent.
Fans can expect a high-stakes, unpredictable showdown as the new format tests strategy, skill and the unpredictable nature of short-track racing.
