The Chippewa Valley Miracle League is celebrating its 10th anniversary, having grown from a modest 69 participants to a vibrant community of 203 children and teens who experience the joy of baseball despite physical challenges.
Founded to provide organized, accessible baseball for youngsters with disabilities, the league now serves players from age four through 19, offering adaptive rules, supportive coaches and a culture that celebrates every swing.
A new partnership with Valley Sports Academy has introduced an indoor facility, allowing games to be played regardless of rain, snow or extreme temperatures and removing a long‑standing limitation for families.
Program leader Amy Standiford, whose family is deeply involved in the league, says the collaboration feels like a natural next step that will broaden opportunities for the kids.
Indoor Play Expands Horizons
The indoor venue not only ensures continuity of play but also creates a space where families can gather year‑round, strengthening community ties and fostering a sense of belonging.
The league is actively recruiting volunteers, emphasizing that each additional pair of hands can make a meaningful difference in a child’s confidence and sense of belonging.
