A tragic shooting erupted during a local soccer game in Poughkeepsie, leaving 46‑year‑old Carl Chambers dead. The victim, a resident of Marlboro in Ulster County, was reportedly gunned down amid the match, prompting an immediate response from city detectives.
Arrests and Initial Charges
City of Poughkeepsie investigators, working alongside several partner law‑enforcement agencies, quickly identified four individuals as suspects. Sharnado Green, Peter Green, Paul Green and Tyrese Hall were taken into custody and later arraigned before Judge Frank Mora. Each was assigned legal counsel and entered a not‑guilty plea.
Following the arraignment, all four men were ordered held at the Dutchess County Jail without bail. Their attorneys, including Ryan LeGrady, Claire Frink, Steve Patterson, Kelley Enderley and Margaret Walker, will continue to represent them as the case moves forward.
Upcoming Legal Steps
A preliminary hearing for each defendant is slated for June 15, at which prosecutors say they will present evidence to a grand jury in an effort to secure formal indictments. The proceedings will take place under the jurisdiction of the City of Poughkeepsie and will be closely watched by the community.
