The Daily Herald has released its 2026 All-Area high school boys soccer team, a snapshot of the season’s brightest performers from across the Columbia region. While none of the local clubs captured a berth in the TSSAA state tournament, the honors list reads like a roll call of individual excellence.
2026 All-Area Boys Soccer Honors
At the center of the recognition is Brendan Medina of Independence, who has been crowned the 2026 Boys Soccer Player of the Year. Medina finished the senior campaign with 20 goals and five assists, a combination of finishing power and playmaking that set the tone for his team.
Hudson Dickey from Richland emerged as the area’s most prolific scorer, netting 27 goals and adding nine assists, while Pablo Cisneros of Columbia Academy earned the DII-A District 3 Offensive Player of the Year after a decisive season.
Other standouts include Brad Hoffman of Lawrence County, named District 8-2A Offensive Player of the Year, and Luke Mullvain of Independence, who contributed 10 goals and four assists. Noah Moss of Richland tallied 13 goals and 14 assists, and Aidan Cathey anchored the midfield for Independence with three goals and three assists.
Coach of the Year: Eric Bossman
In the coaching realm, Eric Bossman of Independence was named Coach of the Year after guiding his squad to an 8-5 record within a competitive district, underscoring the impact of leadership on the team’s resilience.
The recognitions reflect a season of growth and promise for the Columbia area’s soccer programs, setting a foundation for future campaigns as schools look to build on the achievements of their standout athletes and mentors.
