Season Opener Sets the Stage
The Commodores will open their 2026 campaign on September 5, kicking off at 6 p.m. CT at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. The game will be streamed on SEC Network+ and marks the first meeting between Vanderbilt and Austin Peay in nearly a decade.
Vanderbilt enters the season under second‑year head coach Clark Lea, but the team will do so without two of its most reliable playmakers from the previous year. The Governors’ schedule features a blend of home and road contests, beginning with a home game against Gardner‑Webb before concluding the regular season on the road at Central Arkansas. In total, the team will host seven games and travel to five, a balance that could influence their playoff aspirations.
