Nebraska Women's Basketball Prepares for a Demanding 2026‑27 Big Ten Campaign
The Big Ten Conference announced the complete list of home and away opponents for the 2026‑27 season on Monday, revealing a nine‑game conference slate for Nebraska that includes eight teams which advanced to postseason play the previous year, among them seven NCAA Tournament champions.
At home, the Huskers will host Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Michigan State, Ohio State, Oregon, Washington and Wisconsin, with a double‑play series against Iowa scheduled both in Lincoln and on the road; the final conference matchup at Pinnacle Bank Arena will be against Penn State, a team that finished 4‑14 in the league last season.
The road schedule takes Nebraska on a West Coast swing to face UCLA, the defending national champion, in Los Angeles, while also traveling to Iowa City, Illinois, Maryland, Indiana, Northwestern, Purdue and Rutgers, where five of the opponents finished in the upper half of the Big Ten standings a year ago.
Nebraska’s roster will be led by All‑Big Ten First‑Team forward Britt Prince, who returns to anchor the attack, while the team will also welcome transfers Arek Angui, a 6‑9 center from Auburn, and freshmen Ashlyn Koupal and Ava Miles, who could provide immediate depth.
The departure of Jessica Petrie, Petra Bozan, Claire Johnson and Alanna Neale to the transfer portal creates openings for new talent, and coaches believe the added height and experience will be pivotal as the Huskers look to build on their recent NCAA Tournament appearances.
Only Penn State finished below .500 among Nebraska’s home conference opponents last season, suggesting a favorable environment for the Huskers to capitalize on home‑court advantage as they aim to extend their streak of NCAA Tournament appearances.
