On June 4, 2026, Rory Nathaniel Mushlin, a 40‑year‑old youth hockey coach from Colorado Springs, was taken into custody by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on allegations of child sexual abuse.
Arrest and Charges
He faces a slate of felonies that include sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, unlawful electronic sexual communication, possession of obscene material and internet‑based sexual exploitation of a minor.
Investigators say the alleged conduct occurred while Mushlin was serving as a coach at the South Suburban Sports Complex in Highlands Ranch, and that he also held positions at the Parker Field House and the Family Sports Center in neighboring Arapahoe County.
Expanding Investigation
Detectives have identified multiple underage victims and are working to ensure that every potential survivor receives appropriate support. The sheriff’s office is urging anyone with knowledge of the case to come forward.

Legal Status
Mushlin was transported to the Douglas County Detention Facility, where a judge set his bail at $75,000. He remains held pending further court proceedings.
Authorities have emphasized that the investigation remains open and active, with no additional details slated for release at this time.
