Rising Recruits
The latest 247Sports composite rankings have positioned Maryland’s 2026 basketball class at No. 10 nationally, a jump that underscores the program’s growing momentum on the recruiting trail.
At the center of the excitement is five‑star forward Baba Oladotun, who has moved to No. 8 in the final rankings, cementing his status as one of the most highly touted prospects the Terps have secured in recent memory.
Joining him are Kaden House, a No. 44 combo guard who averaged 16 points and 2.4 steals per game while earning defensive player of the year honors, and Adama Tambedou, a No. 131 forward who posted a 20‑point performance at the Iverson Classic and pulled down 10 rebounds per game. Austin Brown, another key signee, logged over 23 points and eight rebounds in his senior season.
Coach Buzz Williams has said he expects Oladotun to make an immediate impact, a sentiment echoed by House, who predicts the Terps will break into the top 25 next season and become a formidable presence in the Big Ten.
The class also draws talent from a variety of prep schools, including Compass Prep, Putnam Science Academy and Lufkin High, underscoring Maryland’s strategy of recruiting across the country. The commitments have already generated buzz on platforms such as 247Sports, SeatGeek and even Chipotle, which has partnered with the program for promotional events.
