A packed preseason schedule
Purdue has added a third exhibition game to its 2026‑27 schedule, bringing the total to three early‑season matchups. The Boilermakers will open with a home clash against Ball State on Oct. 18, then travel to face Purdue Fort Wayne at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Oct. 22, and finally meet UConn in a rematch of the 2024 National Championship Game on Oct. 27.
Coach Matt Painter has said the team will schedule tough exhibition games away from Mackey Arena to test the new‑look roster. With key players departing and five newcomers arriving, the early‑season slate is designed to give the squad a rigorous preview of regular‑season competition.
The Boilermakers are also slated to head to Canada at the end of July for a four‑game stretch, while the opponent for the Dec. 19 Indy Classic remains to be announced. Purdue returns 10 players from last season, adding depth as the program moves into a new era.
Looking ahead
The upcoming games will give fans a first glimpse of how the revamped lineup meshes, and will provide valuable preparation as the team aims to contend once the regular season begins.
