Trinity Christian, St. Johns Country Day, Buchholz and Union County dominate the final rankings

The final Prep Zone Power Poll for North Florida high school baseball has been unveiled, ranking the top 20 teams from a 26‑county region after a dramatic postseason. Voters — sportswriters and sportscasters — compiled the list, and the rankings are sponsored by Be Well Fitness.

State Champions and Final Rankings

Trinity Christian of Jacksonville captured the 2A state title, finishing the season at 27‑8 and earning nine first‑place votes to sit atop the poll. The program added its second championship in school history, a milestone since its 2015 crown.

St. Johns Country Day of Orange Park secured the 1A championship with a 26‑8 record, marking their second title in three years and extending a streak of three straight title‑game appearances.

Buchholz of Gainesville, the three‑time 6A runner‑up, slipped to third in the final poll despite another 25‑8 season, while Union County of Lake Butler, the rural state champion, climbed to sixth after a 24‑7 run that included a 10‑9 victory over Trenton in the title game.

Creekside of St. Johns sits at No. 7, followed by rural runner‑up Trenton at No. 8. Trinity Catholic of Ocala rounds out the top ten, having been eliminated by Trinity Christian in the Region 1‑2A semifinals.

Further down the list, Bolles holds the tenth spot, while Suwannee of Live Oak, Columbia of Lake City and Newberry each received votes. Clay of Green Cove Springs upset Choctawhatchee in the Region 1‑4A final to claim the 12th position.

South Sumter of Bushnell, North Marion of Citra and Mount Dora Christian Academy all broke into the final rankings, tying for 20th with Providence and Beachside of St. Johns. The poll underscores the depth of competition across the region’s diverse classifications.
