A New Era for Cowgirl Basketball
Oklahoma State University has appointed Glenn Cain as its new strength and conditioning coach for the women's basketball program, a move announced on Tuesday that underscores the program's commitment to elevating performance.
Cain arrives after a distinguished tenure at the University of Kansas, where he served as a strength and conditioning assistant for both the men's and women's teams and oversaw a period in which eight players earned NBA draft selections.
His coaching journey began at Frostburg State University, where he was the first strength and conditioning coach, laying the groundwork for his later work at Rutgers, New Mexico and other institutions.
Cain also contributed to Rutgers University's Scarlet Knights women's basketball team and completed internships with the Rutgers football program and the UConn women's basketball squad, broadening his interdisciplinary experience.
A scholar in the field, Cain holds a Master of Education in Exercise Science and Sport Studies from Springfield College and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Jacie Hoyt, the head coach of the Cowgirls, expressed enthusiasm about Cain's addition, noting that his blend of technical expertise and player development experience aligns perfectly with the program's ambitions.
