A Strategic Addition to the Wildcats' Staff
Northwestern University announced this week that John Lintner has been appointed to the role of Assistant Director of Football Video and Data Security, a newly created position aimed at safeguarding the Wildcats' digital assets.
Lintner arrives after a ten‑year journey through college football’s video and analytics departments, where he honed processes that blend cutting‑edge technology with rigorous security protocols.
His most recent stop was at Stanford University, where he not only refined editing workflows for post‑game footage but also led a comprehensive upgrade of the program’s camera fleet and overhauled the Cardinal’s video database to improve both accessibility and protection against cyber threats.
Prior to Stanford, Lintner contributed to several other collegiate programs, including the University of Kansas, the University of New Mexico, the University of Oregon, the University of Pittsburgh, and Michigan State, as well as Sacramento State, where he first broke into the field as a video coordinator in 2013.
His professional trajectory also includes a stint with the Atlanta Falcons in 2015, where he served as a video assistant, gaining valuable experience in a high‑profile NFL environment.
Lintner is a 2013 graduate of Miami University (Ohio), where he spent three years as a student video assistant for the RedHawks football team, laying the groundwork for his later successes.
At Northwestern, Lintner will be tasked with protecting the team’s internal data and video infrastructure, ensuring that play‑calling footage and analytical tools remain secure from external breaches while maintaining seamless access for coaches and staff.
