Development camp sets the stage for U18 AmeriCup 2026
FIBA Americas, together with the Mexican National Federation (ADEMEBA), has arranged a two‑day players and coaches development camp in Leon, Mexico, as part of the build‑up to the upcoming FIBA U18 AmeriCup 2026.
The camp is headed by Walter Roese, a coach with extensive experience in U.S. collegiate basketball and at the NBA Academy, who brings a global perspective to the regional program.
A focused schedule of learning
Sessions are slated for Friday, June 5 in the afternoon and Saturday, June 6 in the morning, giving participants a compact but intensive curriculum.
Activities are designed to sharpen individual skills for the young athletes while introducing modern teaching methods to local coaches.
The initiative reflects FIBA Americas' ongoing commitment to nurture talent and exchange knowledge across the continent, aiming to raise the overall standard of the sport in the region.
