Four-star running back Jayden Miles, a native of Baton Rouge, announced his commitment to Florida State on Tuesday, choosing the Seminoles over the Tigers.
The pledge places Miles at No. 373 overall in the 2027 recruiting class and marks him as the 27th-ranked running back nationally, as well as the 13th-best prospect from Louisiana.
Miles starred at Catholic High, a school that has historically supplied LSU with a steady stream of talent, making his decision a notable shift for the Tigers.
His choice comes even as LSU secured a recent verbal commitment from three-star back Breenen Lacy, underscoring the competitive nature of the state's recruiting landscape.
Norvell's job security looms large
Florida State head coach Mike Norvell's employment outlook for 2026 remains uncertain, and recruits like Miles are watching closely as the program evaluates its direction.
Analysts suggest that if Norvell's position becomes untenable, the Seminoles could see a ripple effect in future recruiting cycles, especially in Louisiana.
