Greyhounds Climb to No. 20 in National Coaches Poll
The University of Indianapolis baseball program capped a remarkable campaign by earning a No. 20 ranking in the final American Baseball Coaches Association national coaches poll, a testament to a season that combined on‑field dominance with academic excellence.
The Greyhounds finished the year with a 39‑24 record, marking the fourth consecutive season the team has posted at least 34 victories and underscoring a four‑year stretch that produced a 153‑90 overall record and a .623 winning percentage.
Beyond the win‑loss column, the club distinguished itself by advancing to the Division II College World Series for the third time in four years and by being the only DII program to reach each of the last four Super Regionals, a feat that cements its status as a perennial contender.
Austin Bode emerged as the offensive catalyst, leading the Greyhound lineup and earning a suite of honors that included multiple All‑America selections, regional and conference Player of the Year accolades, and a pivotal role in the team’s deep postseason run.
Equally noteworthy was the squad’s academic performance, as five players were named Academic All‑District, reflecting the program’s commitment to developing student‑athletes who excel both on the diamond and in the classroom.
