Jonathan Parker Named BRCC Head Baseball Coach
Baton Rouge Community College announced this week that Jonathan Parker will lead its baseball program as the new head coach, bringing a championship pedigree and deep Louisiana roots to the role.
Parker spent the past season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Jones College, where his guidance helped the team finish 41‑18 and earn a berth in the NJCAA Division II World Series.
A graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, Parker grew up in Louisiana and previously played as a student‑athlete before moving into coaching, giving him a unique perspective on player development.
In his introductory remarks, Parker said he wants to build a culture at BRCC centered on accountability, academic success and championship‑level expectations, aiming to elevate both the program and its student‑athletes.
Brock Kantrow, who oversees the college's athletic departments, praised the hire, noting that Parker's experience and vision align with BRCC's broader goals for its sports programs.
The appointment marks a strategic step for BRCC as it seeks to strengthen its baseball offerings and compete at higher levels within the collegiate landscape.
