Alison Seberger is set to return to Kent State University’s women’s basketball program as an assistant coach, a move that underscores the university’s commitment to continuity and growth. Her re‑entry follows a distinguished coaching journey that has taken her from the Mid‑American Conference to the Southern Conference and beyond.
From 2016 to 2019, Seberger served as the Director of Basketball Operations for the Golden Flashes, overseeing day‑to‑day program administration and contributing to the team’s strategic development. During that period she helped lay the groundwork for sustained competitiveness, a foundation she now returns to expand.
A Record of Impact Across Programs
Most recently, Seberger was the associate head coach at Western Carolina, where she played a pivotal role in doubling the team’s win total and guiding the program to a 13‑win campaign in the 2024‑25 season. Her ability to translate strategy into results was evident earlier at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where her three‑year tenure culminated in an 18‑win season and a berth in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
At the University of North Alabama, she contributed to a 21‑win campaign during the 2019‑20 season, further cementing her reputation as a recruiter and developer of talent. Throughout her career she has mentored players who have earned all‑conference honors, including Mia Moore and Denim DeShields at UAB, who have gone on to make significant impacts in professional and international play.
Seberger’s coaching pedigree is complemented by her own collegiate playing days at Illinois State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. She later completed a master’s degree in leadership at Lenoir‑Rhyne University in 2016, blending academic insight with practical expertise.
