St. Augustine High School is constructing a new Baseball Development Facility that is slated to open in early to mid‑spring 2027. The 6,800‑square‑foot complex will serve as a dedicated home for the Purple Knight baseball program, offering a modern venue for training, competition and community gatherings.
A Vision from Alumni Leaders
The facility will feature multiple batting cages equipped with advanced performance technology, a versatile flex‑training space, coaches’ offices, a 34‑player locker room, a weight room and contemporary restroom fixtures. These elements are intended to give student‑athletes the resources they need to refine their skills and compete at higher levels.
Athletic Director Ryan Sims, a 1997 alumnus, says the new complex will help current players maximize their talents and reach their full potential on the field. His perspective underscores the project’s focus on player development.
Aulston Taylor, President and CEO of the school’s alumni association, adds that the facility will enable Purple Knights to train, compete and grow together, reinforcing the program’s long‑term success.
The project is being driven by two distinguished alumni: Devin Rogers, class of 1996, who will serve as general contractor, and Dominic Willard, class of 1998, who will act as lead architect. Their combined expertise reflects a deep commitment to the school’s athletic legacy.
Construction is expected to progress steadily through 2026, with completion targeted for the spring of 2027. Once operational, the facility will not only elevate the baseball program but also serve as a gathering place for alumni, families and supporters across the St. Augustine community.
