The Hawks closed out a dramatic season by defeating Corpus Christi Calallen 2-1 in the state championship game, a win that marks the program’s fourth championship in its history.
A milestone for the program
Among the standout performers, Hunter Rose was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player after delivering a clutch contribution that helped seal the victory.
Rose’s honor was complemented by the selection of four additional teammates — Buck Anderson, Christian May, Spencer Browning, Jace Elrod and Collier Carroll — to the Class 4A, Division I All-Tournament Team.
The all-tournament squad is chosen by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association, underscoring the recognition’s prestige.
Coach Buck Anderson praised the team’s resilience, noting that the championship reflects both individual talent and collective effort.
The victory not only adds another chapter to Pleasant Grove’s storied baseball legacy but also sets a benchmark for future aspiring players in the region.
Looking ahead
With the championship trophy now in the locker room, the Hawks are already planning how to build on this momentum as they head into the next season.
