All‑NLC Honors Celebrate Athletic Excellence
The 2026 season will be remembered as one of the most successful in Mackinaw City baseball history, as the Comets posted a 5‑3 record in the Northern Lakes Conference and secured second place behind Harbor Light’s unbeaten run.
Among the standout performances, pitcher Braylon Currie and outfielder Tyler Hingston earned first‑team all‑NLC honors, with Currie breaking the school’s all‑time wins record on the mound and Hingston topping the Comets’ career runs‑scored list.
Additional first‑team selections from neighboring NMCA included Josh Ferraiuolo and Jeremiah Tucker, while the second team featured Ben Strittmatter, Kyle Valot and Knox Wilson, underscoring the depth of talent across the league.
Harbor Light’s Will Paulus was crowned the conference’s baseball player of the year after leading the Lakers to an immaculate 8‑0 conference slate, a feat that helped the team capture the NLC title.
Beyond the diamond, several Mackinaw City athletes were recognized for their academic achievements, reflecting the program’s commitment to excellence in the classroom as well as on the field.
Northern Lakes Conference Commissioner praised the balanced success, noting that the combination of athletic prowess and scholarly dedication sets a new standard for member schools.
