Grambling State Names Chris Logan Head Coach of Women's Soccer
Dr. Trayvean D. Scott, the university's athletic director, unveiled Chris Logan as the new leader of the Lady Tigers program, emphasizing a shared vision for competitive growth and academic excellence. Logan arrives with a résumé that spans multiple levels of collegiate and professional soccer. Most recently, he served as technical director for goalkeeping with the Colorado Rapids, where he honed a development model that produced several youth internationals. Prior to that, he guided the women's program at Minot State to a standout season, finishing second in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference for goals scored.
A Trail of Accomplishments
During his eight‑year tenure at the University of North Dakota, Logan transformed the Fighting Hawks into a consistent postseason contender. He compiled a 49‑68‑24 record, the most victories by any head coach in program history, and earned Big Sky Coach of the Year honors after raising the team's win total from two to six in a single season.
His coaching pedigree includes stints at NCAA Division I Northern Iowa, where he posted an 8‑8‑3 record in 2016, and earlier roles at Notre Dame College, first as goalkeeper coach from 2003‑06 and later as an All‑America goalkeeper for the school's men's team. Logan's collegiate career began as a standout keeper at Notre Dame College, earning All‑America recognition before completing a bachelor's degree in English language and literature in 2006 and a master's degree from Slippery Rock University in 2009.
Logan's impact is perhaps best illustrated by the players he has mentored. He coached All‑American forward Katie Moller and Academic All‑American midfielder Olivia Swenson during his time at North Dakota, both of whom went on to professional careers after graduation.
