The University of Kentucky women's basketball program announced the addition of Jemma Amoore, a 5‑4 guard from Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, who will join the Wildcats as a junior for the 2026‑27 season.
Amoore arrives after two seasons of college play at Indiana University‑Indianapolis and Sacramento State, where she compiled 57 points, 33 rebounds, 17 steals and 12 assists across 48 appearances, including a career‑high 11‑point outing against Anderson last November.
A Familiar Path to the Wildcats
Her junior‑level résumé is decorated with multiple accolades: she was named Ballarat Basketball Female Athlete of the Year and earned the league’s "Player’s Player" award in 2022, captured the NBL1 ANZAC Spirit Medal in 2023, and captained Victorian state teams at the U16, U18 and U20 levels from 2021 through 2023.
Off the court, Amoore was recognized on the IU‑Indy Academic Advisor’s List for the 2025‑26 academic year, reflecting a commitment to scholarship as well as sport.
The signing also carries a familial thread, as her sister Georgia Amoore completed a stint with the Wildcats during the 2024‑25 season, giving the program a built‑in connection to the university.
Head coach Kenny Brooks expressed enthusiasm about the recruit, noting that Amoore’s defensive tenacity and point‑guard versatility align with the team’s evolving identity.
With a blend of Australian junior championship experience, collegiate production and academic distinction, Amoore is positioned to contribute immediately while continuing to develop under the Wildcats’ program.
