In a recent Commissioner’s Cup matchup, Angel Reese led the Atlanta Dream to an 82‑75 victory over her former team, the Chicago Sky, finishing with 17 points and 17 rebounds.
A New Chapter in Atlanta
Reese brushed off the storyline, calling it "just another basketball game", while thanking the fans who cheered her in Chicago.
The trade that sent Reese to Atlanta came after she publicly voiced frustration with the Sky’s roster, a move that has paid dividends for both sides.
Early in the 2026 season, the Dream sit at 8‑3, and Reese is the team’s leading scorer and rebounder at 13.3 points and 11.7 boards per game, having logged a double‑double in eight of the first eleven contests.
Her 57 career double‑doubles in 75 games place her second only to Shaquille O’Neal among NBA and WNBA players over the past four decades; only O’Neal’s 63 double‑doubles surpass her total.
Reese has now eclipsed Hall of Famers Tim Duncan and David Robinson, each of whom recorded 53 double‑doubles in their first 75 games, a milestone she acknowledges but does not let define her focus.
"Winning games is my priority," she said, emphasizing that personal milestones are secondary to the team’s success.
