Coastal Carolina University announced Wednesday that Veronika Roberts has been appointed to the role of Director of Women's Basketball Operations, a move confirmed by head coach Kevin Pederson.
Roberts arrives after two seasons as the Women's Basketball Graduate Assistant Coach at Columbus State University, where she helped guide the team to a 46‑14 record and consecutive NCAA Tournament berths.
During her tenure, she contributed to the development of players who earned Peach Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors and Player of the Year accolades, underscoring her impact on the program.
Prior to her coaching career, Roberts played collegiately at Bradley University and the University of West Florida, and she holds a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Human Resources Management.
In her new position, Roberts will oversee day‑to‑day operations, recruiting coordination, and student‑athlete development, tasks she says align with her passion for building competitive, well‑rounded programs.
A Strategic Addition for the Chanticleers
The appointment is being hailed as a strategic boost for the Chanticleers, who are looking to sustain momentum after recent successes and to further elevate the profile of women's basketball within the university.
University officials expressed confidence that Roberts' blend of operational acumen and on‑court experience will strengthen the program's foundation and support the team's ambitions on a national stage.
