Emily Meinert Joins Arizona Women’s Basketball as Performance Enhancement Coach

Former strength coach brings diverse collegiate experience to the Wildcats

Arizona Women's Basketball announced a new addition to its coaching staff this week, naming Emily Meinert as the program’s Performance Enhancement Assistant Coach.

A Strategic Fit for the Wildcats

Meinert arrives after two seasons at the University of New Mexico, where she oversaw strength and conditioning for multiple sports, and prior to that served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Louisiana Monroe.

Her playing career spanned collegiate basketball at Northern Illinois University and Parkland College, giving her a player‑first perspective that complements her technical expertise.

Meinert holds a master’s degree in applied exercise science from the University of Louisiana Monroe, as well as an associate’s degree from Parkland College and a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University.

University officials say the hire reflects a commitment to integrating cutting‑edge performance science with the team’s competitive ambitions, positioning the Wildcats for continued growth on the national stage.
